Zoea 02:54
adrift on waves, crashing aimlessly it’s acceptable, it’s a way to be push against, or flow on out to sea there’s a purpose in that futility
2.
Thirst 03:49
everything that moves in the light is driven by the lapping waves enclosed beneath a calcareous sky a lake so vast, black, and deep the landscape that we live within its green border mirrors another down below, a coursing expanse invisibly, our dark outline vessels that rise suspended by everything that moves in the light is its source in the hidden depths? does it spring from the thousand wells? an expanse beyond our searching grasp, known in shape but not in mass vessels that rise suspended by wires and ropes held in your hands pumped and towed by the scaffolding that you constructed in your thirst trestles support the twisting probes drawn aloft by restless windmills aqueducts strain under weight flowing against your upward pull
3.
Org Chart 01:43
put up the org chart it’s just something I felt a hornbeam-dappled afternoon hate to say, it’s another late reply in all my breath an aide to take the pretense how to know what is gained? framed in the doorway a lean to your smile blinding in the afternoon my dear friend relieve me of this pretense tell me what have you gained?

A Glimmer... 01:00
5.
Advancing 04:44
sensing a brightness behind my eyelids long before context ever arrives a vague unfamiliarity seizing the margins of my thoughts the return of words, language never looks the same way twice I stare at lines that won’t ever meet searing light floods my whole mind a third line trapped inside we were made from a surplus of elements none of them meant to be this inflexible they should separate and bend a new shape conveys the prior meaning that an impact could never redefine the full complete form I stare at lines that won’t ever meet searing light floods my whole mind a third line trapped inside there it remains framed in space there it remains slowly advancing
6.
each time I pass the stairs I look up expecting to see something I left behind elsewhere but there it is — a hole in the wood through which streams from deep within a pool in the middle of a pool in the middle of a pool what should I do with undisclosed knowledge? will it immediately disappear? like sunlight after it seeps into the ground? a forest forever watching, an acorn on the cliff's edge it's uncanny. it's a glimmer of spring. it's siren birds. it could almost be home. like sunlight after it seeps into the ground
7.
Fawn 04:00
in the morning as the distant sea heaves a golden silence envelopes me between blades bent to the breeze you called out desperate to be seen the loudest sound you had ever made a blur, so fast, I hesitate you are the light that lifts dawn up from the earth wending through branches, it illuminates the path you are the light in a space we cannot claim shining facets tossed behind the wake within the motion, a flash of clarity a moment so brief, I hesitate
8.
Crystal Heat 04:02
hood hangs, a chewed kiss, texture now feather-slick glowing in blue-green, show me a low tree, crystal heat egrets drift in the slack evening, I think I hear them hushing their wings, circling take a deep breath, wipe off the sweat sunk in moss, devoid of dread mirror of your eye fills the whole sky we're in our riverbed a deep flat thud rings, annotated swells that bring my face against the lake, shutting lids tight, slough the weight so it isn’t? is it not? now is it? oh it’s gone, all right know that limerence does come to fade take a deep breath, wipe off the sweat sunk in moss, devoid of dread mirror of your eye fills the whole sky we're in our riverbed
9.
Bromeliad 04:07
bromeliad, the color of your eyes it hangs in the space just beyond our sight a little weight, I hold it with my two hands and contemplate the color of your eyes I know this space, felt it in my chest before but now that you’re here, that space feels fuller than I can bear lines of your brow form a question silent, patiently it waits within the color of your eyes I knew when I saw them an object trapped in a corner of my memory occasionally lit by errant angles of light distant and warm, aching in a longing way it takes the shape and color of your eyes I knew when I saw them
